Highlights for the launch of Firefox 3
Following the launch of Surf Firefox 3 John Lilly, CEO of Mozilla, posted on his blog some relevant data after the first 24 hours of download:
- More than 8.3 million downloads (the official number will be revealed in a few weeks)
- The market share of Firefox 3 has grown to be in the world 4%
- The "Top 10" countries who have downloaded Firefox 3, so far are: USA, Germany, Japan, Spain, UK, France, Iran, Italy, Canada and Poland
- There were 757 parties to celebrate the launch!
- 83 Terabytes were served
- Amounts to approximately 8.5 full copies of the "U.S. Library of Congress' print collection" or 1,000,000 copies of the new Coldplay album
- In the maximum peak discharges were served 17,000 downloads per minute (283 per second)
- Peaks in the occupation of the servers (mirrors) are reached record transfer rates of 20 Gigabits per second

Jodo, impressive statistics and that they are supposed to grow. There's Spain in fourth place in downloads, it's not bad. Why not celebrate a holiday then?, Had he known there were so many could have done something geek, haha. Greetings.
