Whitewater Canal

And we put pictures of Expo Zaragoza, although again I am afraid I must be brief, but hey, better that than simply omit :-) .

This time I'll just post pictures of what was supposed to be a good incentive to enjoy the surroundings of the Expo, but in my opinion was a fiasco quite important.

What I'm talking about?, For Whitewater Canal Park Metropolitan Water Expo Zaragoza, many times I've gone was dry, and when it worked, really is not that seem rough waters, and eye , I'm not saying that I had to be like down the rapids of a river in the Pyrenees, but neither seems it was rubbish. But to taste the colors, at least if there was a photo pestle.

I love photos with water, Enjoy them:

Water Tower

NOTE: Click on photos to enlarge them, and how are my own, have this Creative Commons License .

Now that the Expo Zaragoza has come to an end, it's time to start putting some of the pictures I did, but good, and the saying goes: Better late than never.

And to start I decided to do with the water tower .

The Water Tower, whose design was the architect Enrique de Teresa Valladolid is one of the icons vertical Expo Zaragoza with an estimated budget of almost € 43 million (considerably more than originally planned).

Torreagua13 Torreagua12

With its 76 meter high water tower hosts the exhibition "Water for Life" and has an area accessible to the public of 10,400 m2.

The zócal or consists of 3 storeys high, of which two are buried and, raised on the ground that forms the ground floor.

Torreagua02 Torreagua16

Inside the tower you can enjoy "Water", a space where the audience will feel, hear and see the water with a large curtain of it that will open and close for the visitors, as well as "The Magic of water ", a set of experiments easily explain some of the physico-chemical water relevant.

Although without doubt one of the most representative of its interior is the sculpture "Splash", designed by Pere sl Gifre and simulating time when a drop of water falls to the ground and is divided into countless smaller droplets dotting .

Another element that makes the tower is an icon of the Expo is to behold the beauty of night, something that stands out even more if you see different places, because depending on where the approaches have in one way or another.

Photos of Primo de Rivera Park Zaragoza

NOTE: Click on photos to enlarge them, and how are my own, have this Creative Commons License .

Some time ago I put a post with some pictures I took in the first of Rivera Park Zaragoza, more commonly known as "Big Park", but after changing blog domain as mentioned, the I blew and I lost many post, including the Great Park, so I write again with a new picture.

Primo de Rivera Park is one of the most emblematic parks Zaragoza also occupies a large area (40 hectares) and has multiple entertainment options, especially now with the weather, which greatly increases the number of visitors made the most numerous activities: Biking (The park has bike rental business, touring, mountain, children's bicycle taxis in which to go with family, etc.), reading or relaxing in the gardens , dog walking, playing badminton, ball, walk, skate, drink in the bars there, or whatever you can think!.

Following an overview of the Park:

Park also highlight some features sculptures, like the Great monument to King Alfonso I the Warrior or a beautiful sculpture of Neptune or at least related to water:

Also highlight a number of other elements such as the botanical garden (Of which I have not put pictures because now is closed for renovations, but I will when I reopen), the Ethnological Museum, the Rincon de Goya, the Winter Garden or Kiosk Music, which can be seen in the following picture:

And like any self-respecting park, could not miss the flowers and gardens that adorn the park:

And finally, a few pictures of the beautiful fountains and waterfalls can also be seen in the park:

Hope you liked them, and if ever you come to Zaragoza, well worth a visit, or if you are from Zaragoza, sure you've ever been, :-) . See if you end up soon with the conservation work of the botanical garden and reopen it again to take pictures.

Traffic exposure fotopoemas

Photographs and poems by Javier Gutierrez Palace. Bar Saudade. Almozara ave 42. Zaragoza.
From 07/12/2007 to 05/02/2008

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to attend, along with my good friend Miguel Daza to the opening of Transit, an exhibition of fotopoemas, designed by Javier Gutierrez Palace , and certainly I was amazed with the photos displayed.

As the author says in his blog :

For me the pictures and poems fotopoemas are trying to talk about one thing. There are two ways to express a feeling, an emotion, usually produced by the contemplation of nature. My fotopoemas talk about the emotions that nature gives me, often in secret, sometimes in the intimacy of a desired company.

These fotopoemas that expose (expose is exposed) talk, as always, roads, the passage from life to death, a vague pantheism that pervades me to breathe and feel calm. They speak also of the continuity of all things. From huge passion of being alive, of that intensity without limit can be detected in the eyes of others, which confirm the life.

Of course, I recommend if you have occasion to take a look, because as I said the pictures are impressive, some seem real pictures instead of photographs, and of course are not subject to any computer retouching process, which is important to note because it seems incredible to see them they can take pictures so unbelievable. It also influences, which the writer of these lines is a novice in photography, perhaps also allowed me to further appreciate the beauty of the photographs.

Then I show the picture and title poem to the exhibition, impressive as it looks, is a flying wing and its shadow (looks quite difficult, if not impossible to achieve photographically), when the picture actually takes all manner consistent with exposure, knowing that poor butterfly is exhausting their physical presence in this world to the calm water, to become part of nature. (Click image to enlarge)

TRANSIT

Death will come.
It will become perhaps as shadow,
how to plan between light and darkness,
Calm like a butterfly.
Death will come and will perhaps
as a transit
as a journey through a vacuum.
It will fade.
Dissolved in water.
Back to form part of all things

Place and Exhibition Dates:
  • Bar Saudade de Zaragoza (Avenida Almozara, 42).
  • From 07/12/2007 to 05/02/2008

Thanks for the invitation Javier, and the transfer of photographs and texts for the post. :-)
