Buildings "official" and the Royal Guard

And now comes the turn to enjoy a few pictures of buildings "official" in Stockholm and are also really beautiful, such as official government sites, specifically Parliament, and other royal buildings like the Royal Palace, although is no longer a royal residence, if it is still home to many real events, since the Kings have their offices there, so enjoy them, first a big picture courtesy of Txus (Recommended click on it and expand it to appreciate it better):

And after is great panoramic views, a few more photos:

And as in any real building that boasts, could not miss the always strong and helpful royal guard, so also devote some pictures of the Royal Guard in Stockholm, both real buildings in the Parliament, and the royal guard at Drottningholm Palace . The truth is that since most of the royal guards are very disciplined and protocol (in the form of walking, moving, changing of the guard, etc), although not as rigid as the Royal Guard in London, and could even speak briefly with them, or throw you some pictures with them, not put any fault, provided that no traspasarás a minimum distance that you could not approach them, but it was very nice, hehe:

Stockholm: Extra photos

In the last post I have planned to do my trip to Stockholm, I will show various photos of Stockholm with a brief explanation of each, thus changing a bit the structure of the last post, as the theme of the photos I have left is varied, and although it may put a photo by post and there you would be very small, is not it, :-) , So I hope you like:

a) The main shopping streets:

In these photos you can see a few images of the streets "known" and "famous" commercially speaking in Stockholm, visiting almost obligatory and where you get most of the memories you want to take Stockholm, :-), unless you want very specific things:

Calle01 Calle02
Calle03 Calle04

b) The lollipop

Nor could stop putting pictures of one of the most famous monuments in Stockholm: The Lollipop, or more technically a great glass obelisk, which can be seen in the center and in an area close to shopping streets and a large square, as seen in the photos:

c) University:

What also caught my attention and I was extremely beautiful, is the University, well, the university and technical courses in engineering, economic campus, letters, etc., were elsewhere. Pay attention to the photo of the roof so beautiful in the university, the truth is that no comparison with the PSC ................., hehe:

d) Place Stortorget

Here you can see some pictures of the Plaza Stortorget or Plaza Mayor, another noteworthy place in Stockholm, where among other things, you can see, in the middle of the photograph, the red and yellow houses are two bars known "gay" in Stockholm where as Dorian serves the best pies in Stockholm :-) Apart from that at Easter and Christmas becomes one of the most emblematic places in Stockholm with markets and stalls:

e) A gas station sea

To finish off the post, I'd show some pictures of a "sea station" and is that really caught my attention because it's not something you see often, myself, had never seen one, did not think existed , and did not think her, :-):

Sculptures

Another thing that struck me is that Stockholm through the streets there are many statues will surely have a reason, but in many there is nothing, just the statue and that's it, I found it quite funny because it's not that there were few precisely. So enjoy a few photos of sculptures and statues in the streets of Stockholm.

Highlights of all statues:

  • A statue in which we are pleased to observe Txus imitating the pose of the statue (Photo 8)
  • A statue dedicated to Saint George (patron of Aragon) , but in Stockholm must also represent something similar (Fig. 3)
  • The curious statue of a bronze mouse, because that really was curious, since we were on the street again, I stepped on the mouse and said, ahhhh a mouse, and saw that it was of bronze, there were several, just like that, were cool, but the circumstances may seem real, lol. (Photo 13)

Sigtuna

Sigtuna is a town on Lake Mälaren, Sweden, in the metropolitan area of Stockholm, founded by King Erik the Victorious (Erik Segersäll) around the year 980.

Located near the Stockholm-Arlanda Airport, 35 minutes from Stockholm, next to the sparkling waters of Mälaren, during its first two centuries of existence flourished as a residence for the crown and shopping center. The city was attacked and destroyed in 1187 by soldiers from the Karelia and were under the orders of the kingdom of Novgorod (located in territories that now belong to Russia), but was rebuilt and maintained some importance until he gradually replacing its paper nearby cities like Uppsala, Visby, Kalmar and Stockholm. It was here where he first coin was minted in Sweden, under the reign of King Olaf the Treasurer (Olof Skötkonung) in the late tenth century

It currently has about 8,000 inhabitants and is a destination of some significance, since it is the first and oldest city in Sweden.

Sigtuna particularly marked the ruins of the first churches built in eastern Sweden, and a church (I do not remember his name) who is the first Christian church in Sweden, told us a very nice man who was there, so this data is unofficial.

You can also visit the palace of Steninge Sigtuna, with shops and glass blowing art gallery and the royal palace Rosersberg, rent boats and fishing gear, golf, and enjoy beautiful walks in streets looking wooden houses.

And now a few pictures, mainly of the church and the ruins that is the part where we focus more, and still not encotramos all, since they are scattered throughout the village:

Stockholm Curiosities

Today I decided to talk a little bit of Stockholm , but historically, I will in the form of personal opinion and what most caught my attention from my stay there.

The truth is that nose where to start, because the lifestyle is totally different to Spain, infinitely better of course, since one of the things that struck me is that although there are people from many cultures (I see Spanish, English, French, Swedish [logically], Germans, Pakistanis, Hindus, Indians, etc) because everyone goes there to your roll, but without bothering anyone, and everyone was very respectful and very friendly If you asked someone, do not put any problem in help, and as I said is that, unlike Spain, where people go to his ball, and few people will talk on the street or in transport, at least Swedes, speaking foreigners do more, but the Swedes, there are few who are not listening to music, nothing more. I also was curious, when I say listen to music, not like in Spain, which will usually take no more headphones, there was many people headphone real monsters giants that will cover your whole ear, almost more than auricularres normal.

But never mind that, because if something caught my attention too is the way people dress, as there were plenty of clothes, from the most posh and demure to the most eccentric, see cowboys, heavys, Hawaiian, etc. , but no matter, the people there do not look bad though view so "rare" in Spain at every step would hear whispers in your path, :-).

Undoubtedly, an important aspect in the communication of Stockholm are excellent network of transportation (train, metro, bus, boat, tram) to move, and frankly I thought was excellent, since then we became "experts" and metro users commuter train to go almost anywhere, as the accommodation we had 20 minutes by train from Stockholm, but is rather "easy" to understand its operation, bearing in mind that we return to Barcelona, and that meter if it was chaos!.

Following the transmission system, said that a key aspect of its operation to be effective, you can purchase various bonuses transport (we took one of 6 days but recall, but you also have 16 tickets, monthly, etc) can be used in any form of public transport which is quite comfortable.

I found also significant is the "education" are public, and is that for example on any train or subway people always came first, and then rose, something that Barcelona did not see, it looked like the jungle, just as there you can upload your pet in any means of transport and cycling, and many people go there by bicycle, yes, as Leis, if you have a dog, you can upload without any problem, both bus, metro, etc, amazing, is not it, in Spain, it seems feasible that!. It is also true that in Stockholm did not seem that many people have dogs, I saw very few.

It is also amazing how confident they are the Swedes, most at least Txus and Iron student card had expired, I had, but everywhere saying that we had believed it, or teach a little one was sufficient for all , and the last day, as we had no transportation card, we took a pack of 16, and is almost not spend, for they were going to bite us and we travel directly opened the security fence and we spent , then luckily there were no referees, because they see how they say they have not wanted to bite us, hehe. Or buses alike, so you picasen enseñabas and did not care, do not travel biting, just as there comes the expression "Becoming the Swedish" because they spend all, so of course.

Another aspect that caught my attention in food establishments, or even shopping centers and bars, is that the bathrooms were paid, was not much, 5 Kr but recall, and if you go several, one can hold the door and Wc make use of another, but that seems impossible in Spain to be charged in pubs Wc use, right?.

Just as I was curious, especially in fast food establishments, is called Refill, which is quite an amount less than buying new drink, make a drink refill, for about 0.5 €, but I recall, in some places even is free, as in the Pizza Hut. And though I had to pay, often drink machines were self service, so in many cases even people did not pay and your refill, or if you had the right to a cafe, then you can take 2 well, emphasizing the again what the Swedes are very confident and spend a little of everything.

And finally finally, since surely leave me many things, but now is what I agreed, commenting that also caught my attention to some aspects of domestic households, as for example many households do not have bathtubs, but simply have a grid on the floor and the shower, or even have something that separates the floor of the shower from the rest, many homes do not have blinds, curtains or fabrics may have, but often do not have shutters, the latches go backwards in Spain , and also all doors open outward normal is it inside, I think, at least in Spain.

Well, I hope that despite the breadth of the post I have found interesting, and thanks if you get here, :-)
